Not too long ago, we here at 247playgames reported on a massive exploit that occurred in MMORPG Neverwinter. As a result, the Neverwinter team was forced to do a seven-hour rollback of its servers for which that occurred in MMORPG it apologized to all players by giving out special items.
Now, the folks at BioWare have a similar issue to deal with! After the introduction of game update 2.1, several players found a way to exploit Star Wars: The Old Republic’s legacy system, acquiring a huge number of crystals.
While these exploits were fixed with update 2.1b, the guilty players received temporary bans for exploiting the game. Unfortunately, it seems like several innocent players were incorrectly caught in this tracking and subsequently banned.
In an official statement, developers BioWare acknowledge the fact that around 150 players were wrongly flagged, and openly apologize for falsely banning them.
"If you were one of those players who had not been exploiting and were wrongly flagged, you should have already been contacted by CS [customer service] as of reading this message. If this is what occurred to you I cannot express how sorry we are. We are going through great lengths internally to avoid situations like this happening in the future.
