... Or so Yoda would say, in his grammatically obscure way. Star Wars fans have a reason to look forward to the summer. On the official forum, Senior Producer Bruce Maclean has announced BioWare's plans for the summer. While the developers have been shy to make premature announcements in the past, Maclean has decided to change this attitude, by giving some information on scheduled content update.
"Sometimes we have been averse to discussing specific dates well in advance, because we aren’t going to release anything unless we feel it is ready to go live and we don’t want to upset folks if we move a date back. Well I think we should just tell you what date the teams are shooting for, and if we don’t hit them we’ll just tell you why."
Game update 2.2 is scheduled for launch on June 11th and will feature the Nightmare Mode Terror From Beyond, new guild bonuses, and the ability for crafters to craft underworld gear. Since there have been a lot of requests for Double XP weekends from the community, the folks over at BioWare have decided to schedule three such weekends between June 22nd and July 7th.
Maclean states that his team is also working on game update 2.3, targeted for an August 6th release. This update will feature new flashpoints, a new daily area and recurring event, and significant visual upgrades.
